Last day, I had a requirement of storing my bookmarks online as a portability requirement.

Google Chrome bookmarks synchronization came to the rescue. This is very good way of synchronizing your chrome bookmarks online to your Google Accounts under the heading Google Chrome Bookmarks Sync. Once this has been done you can use any computer in the world with chrome installed and sync in your bookmarks again in new installation.

1. The bookmarks can be synced by going in tools of Google chrome and then enabling account sync by clicking the synchronize my bookmarks.
2. It will then ask for the google accounts credentials and then will start syncing your bookmarks online.
3. Now comes importing these to your chrome browser on another machine PC/laptop, just do the same step 1 again and it will get all your bookmarks in this machine’s browser. The best part it will also sync this chrome browser bookmarks to your google account i.e.  incremental sync.

You can also stop syncing these to your google account by,

• Going to Settings>>Personal Stuff.
• Then under Bookmark Sync heading press Stop Syncing this account button.

Now how you can import these bookmarks to another browser like firefox.

1. Just go the Bookmark Manager in Chrome and then under Tools>>Export Bookmarks.
2. Now it will save abc.html to your system, which you can now import in firefox.
3. To import these in firefox, you can now go to Bookmarks on Firefox Menu and then under Organize Bookmarks and then in Library.
4. Under Import and Backup you will find Import bookmarks.
5. Browse to abc.html and it will import all bookmarks.

I have been ever wondering, what is the use of google wave without those social features of sharing out waves with others. We know google wave helps us collaborate in real time and that can be helpful in many ways like documenting things, collab games etc. The best part is we can replay all of those to know who did what. But still the major part is sharing and bringing in more participation.

Now that can be done by embedding the Wave in your WordPress blog post. This can be done by installing Wavr Plugin for WordPress. This plugin is very useful for embedding waves in wordpress blogs. After installing this plugin you will see a wave-icon in TinyMCE editor or visual editor of your blog.

Just press this icon and it will prompt you for the waveid. WaveID is the part after the wave: for eg. wave ID for URL this  https://wave.google.com/wave/?pli=1#restored:wave:googlewave.com!w%252BOhy1g_luI will be googlewave.com!w%252BOhy1g_luI with %252 replaced by + sign. So the final ID will be googlewave.com!w+BOhy1g_luI

You can also change colors, fonts, height and width for this wave before embedding. I will also ask Wave Server to use your can enter the google wave Preview server i.e. https://wave.google.com/wave/

This wordpress plugin for google wave is currently in Beta stage as is Google Wave so more enhancements are expected in future in this plugin. Wondering how to google ever mess, just type google.com and you are there to play with google. But this leads to a country directed page such as google.co.uk, google.co.in or co.xx. Sometimes people want to visit the google international page. So not a big task..google itself provides ways to visit google.com. Just follow the link below on google’s homepage “go to google.com” and u will land on google.com. This hyperlink refers to ‘ncr’ i.e. no country redirect and will land you on google.com

Besides u can also type google.com/intl/en/ which refers to international english, be careful to end the link with a ‘/’ or your browser will show a 404 error.

This is a bit too long to remember…I recommend a simpler way. Just type google.com/ncr and when you press enter you will be google.com international homepage. And finally you land on google.com

Google Chrome extension for google Voice is a very useful extension for those who want to keep tab of their google voice mailbox from their browsers. With this extension you can Call, SMS and check Inbox.
