In our last post we told you about the benefits of installing custom comment management and moderation system for your blog. In this post we will tell you how to about installing IntenseDebate on your blog.

It is very easy to setup IntenseDebate as they proclaim in 3 easy steps. Just like WordPress 5 Minute installation.

1. First you need to create your account (Sign-up) on Intense Debate.
2. After you are logged in, enter your website URL on which you need to install Intense Debate.
3. After this pick up the platform (currently it supports, WordPress, blogspot (excludes blogspt classic), tumblr and Typepad blogs) for your blog.
4. After you are done selecting the platform, it will guide you to the next steps depending upon the platform you chose.
5. For WordPress as in our case, you have to download the wordpress plugin for Intense Debate. After unzipping the files upload it under the wp-content/plugins folder and activate this plugin from plugin manager in wordpress dashboard.
6. This will now prompt a status message in your wordpress admin header to configure the settings. Now it will prompt you for including, all the previous comments into its own comment system.
7. After the process is complete you can manage an moderate comments from both you wordpress comments section or Intense Debate user dashboard.
8. After you are done with all the things you can still change settings by going in Settings>>IntenseDebate in wordpress admin.

Also you can include as many websites as you can in a single Intense Debate account and manage their comments from single dashboard. For websites that are not based on the above platforms can also use Intense Debate by including the Javascript snippet (short code) provided by this system into their websites.

Wondering how to google ever mess, just type google.com and you are there to play with google. But this leads to a country directed page such as google.co.uk, google.co.in or co.xx. Sometimes people want to visit the google international page. So not a big task..google itself provides ways to visit google.com. Just follow the link below on google’s homepage “go to google.com” and u will land on google.com. This hyperlink refers to ‘ncr’ i.e. no country redirect and will land you on google.com

Besides u can also type google.com/intl/en/ which refers to international english, be careful to end the link with a ‘/’ or your browser will show a 404 error.

This is a bit too long to remember…I recommend a simpler way. Just type google.com/ncr and when you press enter you will be google.com international homepage. And finally you land on google.com

The AVAST icon shows a RED circle over it. While referring to it shows “the aavm subsystem detected a rpc error“.
The processing of the system might become too slow..

Reason

RPC (Remote Procedure Call) failure may occur due to opening of two or more instances of avast antivirus.
Its not a virus attack, its a system error occuring due to running of a couple of other system critical services

How to debug:

1. Repair Avast. “or”
2. Try uninstall, boot, install, boot. “or”
3. Go to start/run and type “services.msc”…locate “avast antivirus“. Change startup type to “automatic” and restart the system.

How would you configure Ekiga Softfone for calling with VOIPStunt and VOIPBuster. These applications are used to call over the Voice over internet protocols (VOIP). The setups of VOIPStunt and VOIPBuster are available for windows. For MAC and Linux users there is a special set of instructions of how to go about this. But I had a trouble following that process . So I am just jotting down the process of configuration in simple terms. Now what is SIP Based Phone – A SIP phone is a hardware-based or software-based SIP user agent, that provides call functions such as dial, answer, reject, hold/unhold, and call transfer.

So in this How to I will take you down to the steps of configuring your Ekiga Softfone so that you can use these VOIPStunt and VOIPBuster services just like you did in windows. Here settings are for VOIPStunt specific.  Ekiga for Linux Distro Download

1. Before trying to configure Ekiga first you need to register for a VOIPStunt account, by downloading and creating login and getting your username and password.
2. Go to Edit >> Accounts in the Ekiga softphone.
3. Then add your account details as mentioned below :

• Name : your Account Name
• Registrar : sip.voipstunt.com
• User : your VoipStunt username
• Authentication user : your VoipStunt username
• Password : your VoipStunt password
• Timeout : Leave as it is

4. Now if you go to Edit >> Preferences you will find more ways to customize things your way.

• Stunserver (option) : stun.voipstunt.com
• SIP port (default) : 5060 (no need to change it)

5. Now when you have added you account it will show Registered (authorized) in the status column, next to your account name.

6. Now when you have to call enter the number in the top left field on the main panel and with SIP: removed from front. If all is goes well you will be connected to the dialed number.

Many times you have come across instances when you feel to install anything from the setup, but it can’t be done because you only have the .iso file of a bootable CD, but have no CD. Many times you need to see and edit contents inside an .iso file before burning it on CD/DVD, so that CD doesn’t get wasted

How to open the .iso files without burning it on CD

Here we will open the .iso files with Winrar software.

1. First you need to associate the ISO option while installing the Winrar compressed file extractor, under File associations.
2. The next step is to point to the Demo.iso file to be opened.
3. Double Click the Demo.iso file to extract and open it.
