A cool phone service,Rebtel, has launched their official Facebook application.The application allows you to contact your international friends and family for the price of a local call. While this is pretty cool application, it doesn’t frequently work.This service is presently available for 37 countries (excluding India) only and is in its beta development stage. I also read a post from one of the application users who was having problems making calls from Puerto Rico. That’s because service is not currently offered there.
With all these downfalls, why am I reviewing this application? Great question! With all great applications come many bad ones and that is a fact of life.If you want to make international calls at the price of local ones go grab the Rebtel application for Facebook. Be sure to let me know if it works!

Wow, thanks for blogging us. There’s an interview with the guy who’s developed this app on the rebtel blog at http://forum.rebtel.com/wordpress. Apparently ours is only the second voip app on Facebook, and that kind of surprised us, as we figured that a lot of our users would be on Facebook, as are a lot of people within Rebtel, so it made sense to want to be where our users are. (i work for rebtel)

Rebtel’s move is benefetting the VOIP industry as a whole, it is good to see tighter integration of Facebook with VOIP apps.
