  • By default your contact address in Orkut is given as visible to “EVERYONE”. So better give a funny/fake one

  • Don’t give your true photo in Orkut as this might lead to cyber-bullying. You can use AVATARS given by Skype/yahoo/gtalk…
  • Don’t flood your “INTEREST” page in Orkut.This also gives a lot of details about you. Fill them but dont flood them.
  • Don’t mention your School/college/office.This could be disastrous as people will come to know where you work where you live & studied.

Facebook acquires Parakey-The Web OS

Facebook an Online Social Networking site which started in 2004 in silicon valley by Mark Zuckerberg has acquired Parakey for an undisclosed sum on 20th July.Parakey an integration of the features of web and normal desktop Os is a platform for building feature rich applications.
Parakey was started by Firefox contributors Blake Ross and Joe Hewitt. Ross describes it as “a Web operating system that can do everything an OS can do.” The idea behind it is to make image, video, and writing transfer to the web easier. He explains that the current problem with transferring data to the web is that in order to move an image onto the web you first have to transfer pictures from your digital camera, then upload them to a place like Flickr and for writing documents u have to switch to blogger but parakey provides all this under one roof.
It seems facebook which is most sort after in silicon valley a successful venture has plans to capture the market of Google and want to give its users a whole lot of services.I want to tell u that this service is not started yet and will start soon.

Facebook in Legal Battle

A dispute over the origins of Facebook is now on at a federal court hearing about whether Mark Zuckerberg, the young web mogul has stolen the original code for his booming social network from his three Harvard classmates or not.

The lawsuit, filed by brothers Cameron ,Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra, accuses Zuckerberg, Facebook’s 23-year-old C.E.O, of stealing the source code, design, and business plan for Facebook in 2003 when he briefly worked in the Harvard dorms as a programmer for their own fledgling social-networking site, now known as ConnectU.
It seems like these brothers are sleeping way back from 2003.
